Keep Family Together: Elk City / Sayre

9/18/18: Thank you to the Elk City United Methodist Church for donating land for the construction of one foster home for large sibling sets!  Although this “Cimarron Home” will be built near the Elk City church, the fundraising for construction of the home is being led by a task force made up of members of several area Methodist churches.

The first meeting of the task force was held August 27 with Methodist leaders from Elk City and Sayre attending, as well as guests from Woodward First UMC. Construction on two foster sibling homes has already begun in Woodward.

The fundraising goal for the Cimarron Home is $200,000. If you have local fundraising ideas to help raise the funds to build this home, please contact Sarah Steffes at 405-215-1400 or email to sarah.steffes@circleofcare.org

More than 700 children in the Oklahoma Foster Care system are currently separated from their siblings.

Eternal God, you sent us Jesus, hope of the world, who came to us first as a child in need. Help us to follow him through works of faith, labors of love, and steadfastness of hope to bring your love and justice to children; through Jesus Christ your Child who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.
